Is digital marketing important?
Whether you are a B2B or B2C, not taking advantage of this series of 2022 marketing strategies might cost you. Like all of our mother says, there is no free lunch in the world, my child, but what if I tell you that marketing your business doesn’t need a hefty fee from you and can be done without spending much of your time and money. To know what I am talking about, read till the end. In this series, I will be discussing the various types of marketing with examples and anecdotes.
Let me be
honest with you, (no honey-coated words for you here) I don’t care what kind of
business you have, please do not tell me you have a local bakery and you don’t
need much marketing at all. Word of mouth marketing might seem enough for you
now, but if at all you are researching on the internet, about marketing, you
need to make sure you have first made optimal use of all free available
marketing tools at your disposal, such as Social Media platforms.
Why do you need a digital marketing strategy?
Having an optimized social media presence makes your business and brand more trustworthy and referable which increases your sales obviously. We live in a society where people want to make their life seem interesting and worthwhile on their social media. The chances of them visiting a café which is popular and has Geotag locations is high. If it's popular, they want to know what’s it about, and they want to seem cool on their SM pages.
The posts (absolutely free, might I add) will
help your social media reach and be referable. I would want to visit the café
my friend visited last week. I can tag her and the café to make myself feel
included in the mainstream of society.
Marketing
always must rely on buyer/consumer psychology and their requirements. And I
have one question for the reader. What good reason do you have to pass up on
free publicity which can in turn increase your popularity and sales?
Basics of influencer marketing
I hear your next question! How do I start? I have no customers yet. This is where influencer marketing comes to the rescue. Don’t be scared by the big word. Influencers are content creators in SM with a large number of loyal followers. The influencer has already earned the trust and loyalty of the followers and now when she/he recommends or reviews a product/service, the followers usually take her word.
As long as you have a genuine product or service, influencer marketing is a great strategy to entice new customers. There are paid and barter collaborations. I will get into detail about that in the upcoming articles. Or if you want to learn everything right now, this is an extremely useful post. Invite niche influencers to review your service/product and just watch the increase in traffic and conversion.
Highlighting
that you have collaborated with many influencers and content creators will
increase your trustworthiness to a great extent.
Also, remember then collaborating with an influencer is like announcing to the digital world that you are in fact supporting each other so do your due research before selecting an influencer. Also, niche research is extremely important. A good social media manager would do that for you very easily. If you want to do it yourself, understand who your target audience is. What problem are you solving? How are you solving it? Make sure the influencer that you choose has followers who are your potential consumers.
For example, if you have a pet store,
reach out to pet-based bloggers. Make sure you are not doing it for clout,
build a genuine connection and people on the internet appreciate honesty
because they can’t get it in reality. (I don’t know why that took a dark turn)
